From the Manufacturer...
The Avenger SS is a maximum distance driver for the rest of us, combining long glide, ease of control, and durable Z plastic. Throw it hard and flat for a slight fade to the right, then watch the Avenger SS keep on gliding through a smooth, gentle finish. Try one, and you'll be hooked.

I just bought the Avenger SS – Z plastic and I really like this disc. If you are a long time player that doesn’t have the arm speed of long distance players you will want this disc.
My first throw I was able to get a 275′ hyzer flip straight down the pipe of a heavily wooded hole. It tailed off a little sharp at the end but it held a long straight line.
I also liked my results throwing on open holes. I was able to get 300′+ flex shots.
The Z plastic is tough and will not beat up easily so you will get consistent throws time & time again.

I have a pretty beat in 174g Avenger SS in my bag. It is a phenomenal disc for huge drives as an intermediate player. The Avenger SS is a relatively fast driver. It wasn’t a super easy disc for me to throw with when I first got it, but now it holds pretty straight lines and is a great disc for huge D.
This disc even fights a light headwind pretty well. No worries about this disc turning over hard. It still manages to fade back a little every time.
It’s a great disc for more advanced players looking for an understable Maximum Distance Driver.

Great beginner max D driver and understable/seasoned avenger right off the shelf. I’ll let the Discraft Pro’s sum the rest up:
“The Avenger SS is the best roller on the market! If you have any trouble rolling, pick up an Avenger SS. This disc is also great for looong turnovers, and an easy-to-control driver for newer players.”
-World Champion Eric McCabe
“The Avenger SS is a terrific addition to the Discraft line. It flies very straight and far right out of the box. Whereas in the past I needed to beat up an Avenger to get my best distance, I can now just pick up an Avenger SS, no working in required!”
-Elaine King
“This was the disc that I had been waiting for. A truly great driver for those big turnover shots that hold a turn without turning over and goes far at the same time. It’s probably the disc that I have put in more peoples hands that have a hard time with discs ‘hyzering out’ too much and watched them turn into driving machines. A great beginner to intermediate straight driver and awesome power turnover/roller disc. This thing rocks.”
-Scott Papa
“I can throw this disc at 60 percent and it still goes 350 feet. Thrown with a hyzer angle, this disc pops up flat, fades slightly right than slowly fades back left. One of the top sellers out of the pro shop.”
-Timmy Gill

The Avenger SS was first released in 2009 by Discraft. It is the straighter brother to the Avenger hence the SS(super straight). It is slower than the regular Avenger and a great disc for beginners. The Avenger SS is my go to lond distance turn-over disc. I can throw a wide variety of shots with the Avenger SS, it will hold a powered down hyzer line or hyzer flip for a frozen rope straight shot. Thrown flat it will slowly turn over but does not burn out on me very often. It also excels at sky anhzyer spike shots and rollers. I have had some of my farthest throws with the Avenger SS and I always have one with me. It comes in Z plastic and it will hold up for a very long time. It is hard to throw if there is some headwind but it is a great disc for tailwind drives. It also comes in ESP and Pro-D plastic, Pro-D beats in fast and will be very understable after a few months; ESP is a bit less stable than the Z plastic but will still hold lines very well. The Avenger SS is a great disc for players of all ability levels. It is very forgiving and easy to throw. It has great glide and will hold its stability for a long time in the premium plastics. One of the best discraft drivers I have ever thrown. It has been argued that it is the best roller disc in the game.

I bought this disc because of its popularity. Of course I read rebiews and they were good reviews fpr the most part. As a beginner, however, this disc is going to have to sit in my bag for a while until I can improve my drive a little more. It’s a great disc for anyone to have, but it is very hard for beginners to learn to throw.

Pro:The best roller disc on the market, by far! For a power player this disc if roller right out the box when thrown flat and will roll for miles. A less experienced player will love it for hyzer flips, learning to throw rollers, and smooth anhyzer shots. Probably a good choice for beginning disc golf who wants a distance driver.
Other thoughts: i think this disc works best in pro-d plastic. For 2 reason, the pro-d plastic gives the opportunity to beat in for the AM player. Plus its better for rollers out the box.

This disc is truly a fast, modern driver for the rest of us. As an intermediate arm still getting driving locked down, the Avenger SS provides forgiveness and an opportunity to learn, all while allowing you to hang with the big boys out on that 670′ hole. The .5 flight rating means no wicked hyzering out after 100′, and the disc can forgive some of those shots that you forgot to keep the nose down on.
As the thrower’s power and technique increase, the Avenger SS becomes a great hyzer-flip disc for long, straight holes or a great disc for those long anhyzer shots. For Pro-level arms, the Avenger SS is a roller out of the box. Being able to use a disc without the usual required nicks, gouges, and scrapes can help add consistency and smoothness to this difficult shot.
Well-loved. Like or Dislike:
