From the Manufacturer...

The Predator is our most predictable overstable driver. It holds a line in the wind, or turns a hyzer corner at medium speed. Very fast and consistent. Check a top pro's bag, and chances are good you'll find a Pred!

  2. Every major disc manufacturer has at least one, if not 3-4, overstable drivers in their line-up. The Predator was approved by the PDGA in 2002 yet it endures as one of the most popular discs, (overstable or otherwise) among advanced players.

The Predator’s flight path is unique from discs like Lat64s xXx and Innova’s Firebird. Where those two discs begin to fade early in the flight, and continue a gradual fade through a slow, forward-penetrating finish; the Predator begins its flight straight and fast, and transitions from straight to a sharp fade almost instantly.

Most unique about the Predator, however, is how it flies after it becomes worn. Players with 350′ of power will be able to throw a beat Z Predator on laser-straight lines with a consistent fading finish – even into a headwind.

    A couple buying tips:

    - If you’re looking for your Predator to act viciously overstable, look for flat Z Predators, especially pink or red in color.

    - If you’re looking for a less stable Predator, look for older molds, 2004 or older in Z plastic, or “First Runs” in ESP plastic. Discraft changed to a more stable mold after those were run. Dark green and light yellow also fly with less overstability, as do Predators with a more domed top.

  3. When it just HAS to come back, the Predator is the perfect choice. This disc is fantastic in a head wind, or those situations where strong fade is needed. Fast enough to get you down the fairway, but overstable enough to fade in and skip when you want it. The Predator is my go-to disc for right-sided OB (rhbh). This disc is also perfect for overhand shots.

  4. Excellent overstable disc for hyzers and huuuge skips. The Predator is a slight bit less stable than a Firebird but is a bit faster and penetrates forward throughout its LSS much better than the Firebird.

  5. The Predator is a great disc that can have a variety of different uses in your bag from overstable control driver to a distance driver or as a utility disc. This disc is very overstable at the end of its flight and it will always finish with hyzer almost no matter how hard you throw it. It makes a great forehand driver and it is my main forehand roller disc as well. When ever there is a headwind this is also the disc I grab for. This is a great utility disc that you will grab for over and over. I use this disc over other overstable discs because of the excellent glide it gives me on full power throws. I carry three Predators in my bag at all times from a new one to a super beat up one. I highly recommend the Predator in just about any plastic.
