From the Manufacturer...
Our most popular disc of any kind, the Gateway Wizard™ is a true, stable workhorse putter. The Wizard holds whatever line you throw it with very little fade during its drop, and is also a great putter in windy conditions. While stiff enough to hold its line on long putts, the Wizard’s plastic is grippy enough to grab chains every time.
The Wizard handles controlled power very well, thus makes an excellent choice off the tee for midrange drives, in addition to upshots. The Wizard is a very consistent and accurate disc that should find its way into your bag.

The only bad thing I can say is that you never know how soft a wizard you’ll get until it breaks in. BUT IT DOESN’T MATTER! A wizard is a wizard is a wizard and it is my favorite putter of all time. I have 3 in my bag ranging from wet towel soft (Super Stupid Soft) to grippy firm soft (newer SS). Wind, rain, elevation, the wizard has the magic to handle it all.
I putt anhyzer and this disc finishes straight into the chains or lands flat within a few feet of the basket. Very few roll aways compared to other putters.
I don’t do it in round but I have crushed a few long drives across a field with it to prove a point. For a putter it goes a long ways (but that’s what approach discs or mid-ranges are for in my opinion).
Buy a few (always in person due to the aforementioned softness) and be happy for many years to come.
As a funny side note I’ve had multiple people offer me $20 or more for my wet towel 3 year old wizard based on feel alone. Yep, that awesome.

The Wizard is one of the most popular putters of all time for very good reason.
As a putter it performs admirably, but realistically most putters behave similarly within the circle. Myself and others like me prefer the feel of the Wizard because the rounded lip and the bead. Beads are designed to fit in the ridge of your fingers, and the Wizard uses this to help with control as a putter. As a driver It performs better than almost all putters due to it’s design. The flight plate is super thin, leaving most of the weight on the outside of the disc. For reasons beyond my understanding this helps it fly wonderfully.
The wizard has 2 large drawbacks. First is the availability and consistency of different plastics with Gateway. You can get a medium and a Supersoft that have the exact same feel. Once you find the tackiness that suits you, you’re best off feeling the discs before purchasing.
Secondly is in the slight flight change Wizards have had since roughly the middle of 2010. As a driving putter Wizards have always had a good amount of stability which allowed them to handle a large amount of power on straight lines and a reliable fade. Since last summer(ish) new wizards have less stability and behave more like a seasoned version of an older wizard. The disc is still great, but the consistency is lacking.

The Wizard is one of my favorite driving putters of all time. You can get some really good distance with it in a very straight line. It can do any line you want and this thing glides a heck of a long way. Inside the circle I recommend the Super Soft or Stupid Super Soft plastic for excellent grip both in your hands and on the chains. The only problem I have is that you just don’t know what kind of soft you are getting and every disc is a different feel from run to run which makes ordering them online almost impossible.

This is the putter I use on all my putting shots and I really love it. I have a super soft and a SSS.They seem to both fly the same just have difference in grip. It has a little Hyzer to it so you have to keep that in mind when you putt with it. I am waiting to break my main one in so it will fly a little straighter. I really like the way this disc feels and looks. It also doesn’t roll as much as other putters I have used and tends to land flat which is a major plus. Put a little Anhyzer on this bad boy and you will be in the chains all day!

This is my go to putter inside the circle. I have two in my bag at all times. One new and One beat. The new one is a bit more overstable and a medium flex. I throw lots of soft landing anhyzers with this disc and I know that it will land flat all the time. The beat soft one I use for standard putting most of the time but it will hold any line I put it on. Great disc for upshots and short drives as well. I really like that gateway keeps changing the plastic just a bit so you can try diffent feeling disc’s. This is also a great short range roller disc. This is one of the best putters you will ever throw.

Also my go-to putter. I only use them for putting, I don’t throw it off tees. I prefer the softer models such as SSS, 4S or the eraser models. It’s relatively overstable and will hold a line into wind, but certainly not a meat hook putter.
The only negative would be that the rubbers/plastics can vary, even within specific models like SSS or SS. That’s why 4.5 stars instead of 5.

The Wizard is my go-to putter. I always try to keep a couple beat SSS Wizards as well as a fresh one, and a SS Wizard for windy days. Not only is it great for precision putting, I use it off the tee for a lot of holes 300′ and under.
