From the Manufacturer...

The Archon is a new Speed 11 Distance Driver that blends the graceful long turn of the Katana with the smooth fade of a Wraith. It has been described as a longer Valkyrie. This will be a great disc for players looking to master their game and rule the course.

  1. I got my 166gram Echo Star yesterday, from Marshall Street. It’s got a good feel in the hand; very familiar after throwing Surge, Wraith, and Orc for a while. It does seem to be a faster Valkyrie, but a little flippier, and nowhere near the glide of a River. I usually throw max weights, so this disc is nice and light for me, but even my girlfriend could HyzerFlip it. It wasn’t hyper-flippy though. I could still put it on an angle and throw a mean hyzer with it. It holds an anhyzer pretty well, and seemed to know when to break off and fade out. It had very little fade to it, unless thrown on a hyzer, in which case I got about 10 feet left and a 20 foot skip further left. It seems like a good disc for skip shots; probably better for it in Champ though. All in all, it’s a great disc, doesn’t require a lot of effort for distance, easy to control, and it doesn’t require any “beating in” to get to the sweet spot of flight.

  2. Archangel on steroids. Fast understable distance driver for easy D and hyzer-flips. Horrible in the wind and for power players but could be used for roller or turn-over disc. Good disc for intermediate players looking to move-up from a valk or sidewinder with more distance. Great tailwind driver and similar to a Katana but slightly easier to throw. Slightly sensitive disc due to being so understable but throw it right and watch this one just keep flying!
