I was originally a proponent of regular Rocs, but I am now a convert. The Classic Roc is a super-straight, easily controllable midrange/putter that I use all the time. Depending on the particular one you pick up, they can start out quite stable, but they all beat up into wonderful control discs. My CFR Champion Classic Roc will hold any line I put it on. Hyzer, anhyzer, straight, turnover, whatever. If I am between 100 and 200 feet, I am usually grabbing a Classic Roc.
The Classic Roc has a few differences from the regular Roc molds. It is a bit slower and has significantly less glide, so it is less appealing off the tee for some. Also, it has a much shallower rim, which some people will tend to dislike. However, it is a much truer flying disc. The Roc starts out as a true overstable midrange and gradually beats into a straight flyer, but the Classic Roc starts out straight and beats into a slow, controlled turnover mid. Also, the low glide rating makes it a great putter in windy conditions.
All in all, I recommend the Classic Roc to everyone, but particularly those who are looking for an alternative to the endless Roc/Buzzz debates.

Every Disc Golfer should have this disc in their arsenal. There is a reason it’s still on the market after 30 years. The Classic ROC is an all around disc. Hyzer flips, anhyzers, upshots & putts are just a few of the throws this disc can handle. Once it gets beat up a bit it will become your go to short shot disc. You will have the ability to turn this disc around tight anhyzer corners like no other disc. Need to make a 30′ putt in wind. This is your disc. The thin profile and heavy DX feel will help you drop putts in windy conditions.
