The Roc is simply the best, most versatile mid-range disc ever made. It provides accuracy at any range. This disc can take and hold the angle of release, even into a headwind. It can be used for driving, upshots, straight shots, hyzer shots or anhyzers. The Roc ages gradually and predictably. If you’re not sure what disc to throw, choose the Roc; just like most pros.

This is an all-around great disc. It will do anything you want, both forehand and backhand. I use it for both. I throw mainly Rancho Rocs, and they start off overstable and straighten out as they beat in. These discs perform well in the wind, especially newer ones, and always have a predictable finish that you can manipulate to your advantage. The main thing I have heard players complain about in regards to the Roc is the shape of the rim, so you will have to feel one and decide for yourself whether you like the way the rim feels in your hand.

Roc is the best all around midrange disc. A Rancho starts out straight with a decent fade, but beats into a high speed stable straight disc with little or no fade. You can shape most all lines with them. These discs are also good from 100′ approaches up to 300-400′ drives. (I’ve seen them thrown over 400), I’m human, so it’s beyond me, but these will easily cruise 300′ even for me. DX glows are great, KC pro is good, and if you can find a hard rigid DX, they’re the best IMO.

This is one of the best midrange discs out there hands down. Being a beginner, this disc is very easy to throw and do what you want it to do. I can make it fly really straight when I need it too, and I can make it work easily around trees and other obstacles. With mine it seems the more I throw it the straighter it gets which is nice. I have a Glo ( Which I think is just DX but it has a more “Gritty” feel to it) and a R-Pro Roc. Right now I am trying to decide whether I should use the Roc or a Buzzz as my primary midrange. Decisions decisions…

Great backhand disc for all around! I do not throw backhand that often but I will throw this one sometimes! Also can be used as a driver and many of the people I play with do so on holes 250 and in. I do not however reccomend using this if your a power fh player. I really have to let off a lot for it to not turn and burn! Summary: If you throw backhand any this disc is a must have for short drives, midrangre shots, etc. If you are looking for a fh power midrange disc I would probally not buy this one if you are just starting but a vet fh player should be able to control it some. I would say look at the Millenium Aurora MS if you are looking for a FH only midrange!

I rely on a beat dx rancho roc to hold any line I put on it. It’s a huge part of my game, and I drive it forehand and backhand. I play a lot of putter and roc only rounds, and have achieved many of my best scores that way. Learning to drive a roc has made me a much better tournament player, and I excel in the woods compared to other competitors at my level because driving a roc provides excellent accuracy and versatility. It’s like a longer classic aviar and a shorter dx teebird. It beats in really straight and won’t turn or fade when thrown with good snap and spin. It travels straight over a huge range of distances.
