First midrange ever purchased and served me well until I found out about the other much superior discs like a buzzz or roc. Skeeters are great to learn good form and throw lower powered control shots. Super easy to hyzer flip in those tight spots or finesse shot trying to get out of trouble. I even knew someone who used a R-pro as a putter. Solid midrange for beginners or less powerful players looking for the most control. Plastic type and dome has a lot to do with stability and not the most consistent flying disc out but generally very understable.

This is a disc that I’ve really tried to like, but it’s just too undependable unless you keep your throw low-powered. It has incredible glide and an amazing straight flight. Little to no fade. 225+ feet is easy for the Skeeter, but pushing it far beyond that is going to require smooth form and skill. Easy to overpower and it requires a very clean release – otherwise it gets extremely flippy and flutter will kill it quick. When you tell it exactly what it needs to do, it’s a beautiful flight, but it’s not a disc that forgives errors. That said, it’s also very versatile and will hold lines in either direction in calm winds. If you have a clean release, good repeatable form, and are willing to spend some time getting to know this disc, it may be one that stays in your bag. For me, it just didn’t offer enough that other discs can’t already do, and do so more consistently. I think it’s a good disc, great for beginners learning proper form, and for younger throwers or those with less power.

The Skeeter is a long glide mid-range disc good for hyzer-flips, and turnover shots that I need to finish right without coming back. I have this disc in Star Plastic and 2 of them in DX, but the behavior of these discs is the same in both plastics, very flippy. After using both these discs, I prefer the Skeeter in DX plastic. This disc is rated at a -1 turn, but actually turns much harder than my stingray which is rated at -3, from my experience with them. Highly recommend for new players.

I found a pretty new skeeter on a course, with no ink, so i decided to give it a few tosses. It was light, and in DX plastic. It seemed to have a lot of glide, and not much stability.
The disc was flipping over so much, that I literally left it on a teepad for someone else to try out.

The Skeeter is really a great all around disc. It throws like a driver, so you will probably find yourself driving with it a lot. I can push it out to 300 pretty easily on a straight line – which brings me to my next point – the Skeeter is super easy to throw straight. Put it on a line, and it should hold it pretty well for you. You can even putt with these things relatively comfortably, although I wouldn’t make a habit of it. I would probably rate this as my #1 disc I would recommend to a beginner.
