From the Manufacturer...

The Ridge excels at the finesse approach and can handle a power drive. It likes to hold the line and fly true. As a putter, the Ridge has a comfortable grip and a smooth, natural release. It works well as a hyzer putter and a stright-line putter. The X-Link material helps it grab the chains and stay in.

  1. I was given one of these to try out on the course. I was told that it was a great driving putter and that since I drive with my Aviars a lot that I should give it a try. When we got to a pretty open 300′ hole I decided to throw it there after throwing my Aviar. I didn’t have to put 100% into the Aviar to get it to the basket, and I threw the Ridge just as I did the Aviar. The Ridge came up well short of the basket.

After finishing the course, we went back to that hole so I could throw the Ridge some more to see if I could get a feel for it. It flew really straight, but I couldn’t ever get it out to more than about 285′. I watched the guy that gave it to me throw it, and it was going straight for him as well. I then gave him my Aviar to throw, and he threw it the same distance as he threw the Ridge, but he turned it over consistently.

I eventually came to the conclusion that this disc is a very neutral disc, but it has to be muscled for distance. It “flies” more like a projectile than a disc. A smooth, clean, snap dominated throw will not give this disc much distance.

That may make it good for putting, but I was told it was good for driving with and it is far from that.

  2. The perfect everything putter. It is a nice driving putter than can go to 300′+, touch approach disc(soft version), regular approach disc, and of course as a putter.

The soft ones make better putters and are similar to the floppy SSS plastic from Gateway. They make great putters for hilly or mountainous courses or those approach shots that you need to land and stick. They are a little hard to get used to driving with as they are so floppy and fly a little askew.

The regulars, or mediums are my personal favorite. They have that perfect amount of flex, or gumminess, to be able to both drive with and land softly. You can easily use them to drive with or putt with. You dont have to put a ton of snap in them to get them to fly. If you over torque them though they are forgiving. They will hold any line you put on it and are stable forever.

The firms beat in quite quickly compared to the regular ones and are much more slick. They feel the most like plastic compared to the other two lines of rubber.

  3. This is a solid disc to use as a short range driver. The only catch it you need to give this disc a LOT of snap. This is not a touch disc. If you want it to go straight you need to throw it like a driver.
